Tiahrt Statement in Commemoration of Worker’s Memorial Day April 28

WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Todd Tiahrt (R-Goddard) issued the following statement in commemoration of Worker's Memorial Day this coming Monday, April 28th.

"Monday marks Workers Memorial Day, a day we remember the generations of workers before us who helped pave the path for a safer work environment," said Tiahrt. "Many workers have lost their lives or have suffered injuries while working hard to provide for their families and live the American dream.

"Worker’s Memorial Day is also a reminder of the need to continue making improvements in the workplace. By collaborating with workers, employers and the government, we can find ways to harness innovative practices that improve efficiencies and lessen risks workers are exposed to. A safe work environment is in everyone’s best interest and should be a shared goal.

"By striving for a safer work environment, workers will suffer fewer injuries and the quality of life for workers and their families will improve."
